Bob and the Blob was one of my favourite books to write. Inspired like a lot of my books by the brilliance of Douglas Adams. It was with this book I decided to just ignore the rules on what you should and shouldn’t do with writing and just did whatever I wanted to do. That doesn’t work for everyone, but I’m not everyone.
I thought about it and all the rules, and the ways of writing were made for regular thinking people, not dyslexics and people with autism, our brains don’t work in the same way, so I needed to make my own rules, and find out for myself what works and doesn’t work for writers like me.
So, with Bob and the Blob, I unleashed the random nonsense that all makes sense in the end, and that is what works for me. Autistic brains don’t go in a straight line, and what seems like totally unrelated and irrelevant things to everyone else can often be a vital piece of telling a story to us, although nobody else will see that right away. It doesn’t work that well in a conversation, but in a book, it seems to work just fine.

Great mix of story and humor reminds me a little of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy writing style.. Lots of laugh out loud moments.

Bob and Fred are are my new heros. Can't remember when a book -or anything - made me laugh so much. My husband almost kicked me out of bed when I was reading Chapter 22. So freaking funny- think Seinfeld meets Monty Python. Fyi, there is some bad language, but not so much that it annoyed me. (I don't mind a few f*bombs but sometimes that's the whole dialogue.) I got this book free, but made no promise to review. This is entirely voluntary. I read a lot of books- mostly thrillers and horror so Bob and the Blob is not my usual kind of read. Still it's the best book I've read this year
