This one is kind of self-explanatory. The inspiration for it, quite obvious. I have spent most of my life living on council estates that were blessed with many single mums, some of them were lovely, hard working dedicated mothers, and others, not so much. Karen is based on the not so much, but nobody is all bad. Karen is the start of, Karen’s redemption story. The running theme of the Apocalypse Blockers is that apart from, Rick, none of them fit the stereotype to be a superhero, and Karen certainly is not your normal superhero material.

If you’re looking for a reason to laugh Karen is the reason!

This was one of the funniest books I have ever read! I downloaded it last night and thought I would give it a cursory glance skip ahead two hours and I was still reading. It was only when my husband asked me to stop laughing but I stopped reading and finished it this morning. Karen is a horrible mother who lives in Council housing, The equivalent to the projects in America and her biggest dream is to get full disability and or a humongous payout by lawsuit or really any means necessary. At the same time she is ruining the lives of her children and her friend Emma is doing the same. An alien recognizance team fly from the planet Hoby to install a gate that would help them to instantly time travel to earth. Unfortunately Celine the alien responsible for the coordinates is off by one number and inadvertently put the gate in current front yard. This is when the adventure begins and when I say adventure I mean in the biggest best funniest possible way. I can’t wait to read more books by Simon car is this it One of the funniest books I have ever read and I highly recommend it. It was so freaking good!

Filthy! Stupid! Hilarious!

Wow. If Terry Pratchett were filthy he would be Simon Carr. I laughed a lot in this book. I may have actually laughed out loud at least once on every page. Karen and Emma are two trashy babymakers living off the government. Karen and Emma are a lot like a female British Beavis and Butthead. Aliens from another planet planning on conquering Earth arrive in Karen's back yard. This is a huge mistake. This book was funny, stupid, filthy and highly entertaining. I am going to track down more by this author and hope they are close to this funny. This book is incredibly immature but definitely not for children.

Irreverent and laugh-aloud funny. I was only going to have a quick look inside to see how it started, and by then of page 1 I just had to download it and keep reading. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Recommended.

Horrible train wreck of the fall-off-your-chair laughing hysterically type...Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2021

Oh geez, where do we start?

Not PC in any way whatsoever, this British rendition of the feared KKKaren (I prefer to distinguish these creatures from the normal Karens of the world who are horrified by the behavior of the feral KKKarens) saves the world while looking for the manager. If you're looking for something completely inappropriate that fulfills every stereotype of the KKKaren, well here you go. And she has a friend that's almost as bad! Almost. Oh my!

This is NOT for kids or the faint hearted!

The tale of an awful woman who accidentally saved the earth from devastation. This rollicking tale is full of laughs and highly recommended to adults due to its use of profanity.

This book was so much fun to read! I normally don’t have the attention span for anything except thrillers, but this book kept my attention the whole time! Great author and great characters!
