The pandemic started as I was halfway through writing, The Super Nice Monster Squad, it was at its peak when I was writing Sheeple. As you can probably guess the inspiration for it came from the plethora of conspiracy theories that had swamped the internet at the time. I just remember looking at them all and thinking just how bizarre the world would be if they were all true. I am no stranger to conspiracy theories myself, but these had no point or reason behind them, it was everything is a lie, and the mainstream media are behind it all. It was a very interesting time for me as I was used to conspiracy theorists being left wing hippy’s, now all of a sudden conspiracy’s were a right wing thing and being indulged by your average conservative who traditionally would mock conspiracy theorists and call them deluded idiots. That whole shift in society fascinated me, I wanted to try and capture just a snapshot of the insanity in a story, so I wrote Sheeple, a reality where the conspiracy theorists are all right.

I roared with laughter reading this book. I always do with Simon's work.
I won't spoil it, but if you like satire with a few minor dark elements, and/or you're sick of conspiracy theories/theorists, read this novel. Just mind your laughing muscles, because they'll be on overdrive. We wouldn't want any injuries.
Five stars as always for this author!

Try reading this at night with your partner fast asleep,
I got kicked out of bed for waking my wife up for giggling and snorting loudly.
I am sure Simon Carr is the son that Terry Pratchett lost at cards one Saturday night,.
It is now 3 minutes past midnight and I am signing off to find more Simon Carr books to laugh at
Please read it (sheeple). and prove me right.😂
